Frozen in Time

The Little Samurai

I received a call from a young Italian father named Giovanni. He told me his seven year old son, Sanili, had drowned in a swimming pool five and a half years ago; and, with intense intervention and efforts to resuscitate him, he was medically brought back to life…almost.

Having two sons of my own, my heart cried with his.

Once active, energetic, and loving his son was no longer able to walk or speak or sing or dance to music. Giovanni talked with me about he and his wife’s hopes and dreams for their son, and I was so touched by his story that I agreed to see Sanili immediately.

Later that day, Giovanni and his Japanese wife, Keiko, rang the doorbell and to my great surprise the mother was holding a baby!

I already knew from my conversation with Giovanni that his son was now a young boy. I didn’t know what to expect but this certainly was not even remotely close! It was immediately obvious that for the last five and a half years this child had been in a time warp. He had not grown, or matured in any way – in fact he had regressed so that he could no longer speak or stand.

Healing the Gap

I began to work with Sanili stretching his arms and legs that after the accident had become withdrawn and distorted severing his ability to walk or even crawl on his own. His parents carried him everywhere. I strongly suggested to Giovanni and Keiko that they place Sanili’s feet, as best they could, on the ground several times a day so that he could once again experience the Earth’s energy.

As I continued to intuitively work with Sanili that day, the abdominal visceral releases were the most profound. For many years, Sanili had been feed through a catheter. Scar tissue, knots and blockages had formed in his abdomen, spider webs of fascial adhesions grew around and beyond where the tubes had been inserted. I could feel these adhesions melting beneath my touch. He responded incredibly, his eyes met mine. He showed me that he knew we were untying those knots with his twinkling smile, the likes of which I’ve never experienced. He brought tears to my eyes in his radiant glow of grateful connection.

Profound Improvement

Imagine my surprise when they arrived the next week carrying their little boy. He was no longer a baby! He had matured ─ growing significantly in height, his face started to have distinctive features, and even his ears had grown!

He looked like a little Samurai warrior.

Again, he talked directly to me with his sparkling eyes and smile of recognition. Sanili’s arms and legs and even his fingers and toes were much less distorted and much more pliable. Because of the abdominal visceral work the previous week, Sanili had moved unusually large amounts of waste from his system. His parents were elated. As the weeks went by and the sessions continued there was even more physical and cognitive changes. Sanili grew an additional 3 inches, his arms and legs continued to straighten and his features became those of a boy. The cognitive improvement in Sanili’s ability to recognize color, shapes and even people and the progress in his attempts to speak had increased so significantly that the Los Angeles Unified School District special education teacher assigned to Sanili wanted to see for herself the work that I was doing with this little boy.

Integration and Liberation

We were only able to work together for a few months before Sanili’s father was hired by a firm in Arizona and the family relocated. Months passed and I did not hear from them until a phone call came from the mother to let us know that their son had peacefully passed away. His parents told me they believed Sanili had finally escaped the time warp he was trapped in and found the liberation he desired. They felt he was now freed to grow beyond what his little body could house. He had done a tremendous amount of growing in these months we’d worked together and he was no longer trapped in form. I was moved by the fact that they could accept his death with deep love and grace. It is such a hard thing for a parent to lose a child and they were both at peace with his passing.

I will always be grateful for the honor of working with Sanili. He taught me so much. Sanili gifted me with tremendous insight and understanding into trauma patterns and the body’s ability to dramatically change ─ he showed me the ways his spirit transcended his circumstance.

There are many ways a warrior shows his courage, Sanili taught me his way.
